Civics Students visit State Capitol

IMG_2004The 7th graders took a field trip Friday February 17th. The first part of the field trip was focused on their social studies class- Civics. Students got to participate in a mock vote in Congress. The topic was based on an actual topic passed in Florida Congress (student vouchers). Their results were identical to the actual results and the students enjoyed being representatives and arguing their sides of the debate. Students were also able to go to the top of the capitol to get a full view of Tallahassee from the twenty- second floor. Next students went to the Challenger center and enjoyed a screening of "Black Holes" on the 3-D Digital Dome. It was quite an experience that the students will not forget!
